Kishkindha Kanda

Valmiki Ramayana · 67 sargas

The search for Mata Sita brings Shri Ram into the company of Hanumanji and Sugriv. Their meeting opens the way for service through friendship and shared purpose. The killing of Bali is followed by the monsoon at Kishkindha, and the search for Mata Sita must then move forward through the efforts of the search parties. The narrative teaches us to attend to what duty requires at each stage, including the patience to wait and the readiness to act. As the search reaches its next great challenge, Jamvant reminds Hanumanji of his strength. This reminder prepares him for the task ahead. We too may need wise counsel to recognise the capacity available for service. The next step is to put that capacity to work for Shri Ram.
